What is a Bespoke Wedding Cake?

A bespoke wedding cake is a cake that has been created by an experienced cake designer especially for you. Each step of the process is a labour of love tailored specifically to you and your day.

What is the difference between a cake maker and a cake designer?

A cake maker will usually take a photo that you give them and do their best to replicate it (although no cake can ever be replicated exactly). A cake designer on the other hand, will design a whole new cake from scratch with you and your wedding day in mind. A designer may use photos you've shared as inspiration, but will never directly copy the work of other. They will always have their own style and creativity at the ready to create something completely unique to you.

Why should I choose a bespoke wedding cake?

If you're after something unique and tailored to your vision from a designer that truly cares about creating something special just for you, then a bespoke wedding cake is the way to go. While you can always use an image as inspiration, my recommendation would be to use it as a jumping off point to discover your own style and subsequently find a cake designer that can bring your dream cake to life.

Does a bespoke cake cost more?

In short, yes, as a rule anything custom made or unique to you will cost more than an 'off the shelf' product. I.e. if you were to purchase a custom made wedding dress, you would expect it to cost more than a dress that was mass produced, the same logic applies to a bespoke cake.
