Classic Recipes

All cakes contain eggs, milk products and gluten unless otherwise stated. Furthermore, these cakes are made in a kitchen where many allergens are handled therefore we cannot guarantee that our cakes will not contain traces of these or any other allergens handled in the kitchen.

 

Vegan/Free from Gluten Recipes

In the case of our vegan/free from Gluten recipes, while every effort is made to ensure that cross-contamination does not occur, the cakes are not made using separate equipment or in an allergen-free environment. Therefore those with severe allergies should take extra caution. If in any doubt, do not consume our products. 

 

Allergens handled in the kitchen include but are not limited to; fish, nuts, celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, milk, Eggs, lupin, molluscs, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soy beans, sulphur dioxide & sulphites.

Booking Process

Please advise us of any specific dietary or allergy requirements prior to booking

​

First we will review your booking and I will send you a guide price. Should you wish to book I will send you a booking form where you'll be asked to accept these terms and conditions. Once this is filled in, you'll receive an invoice for a £50 deposit to secure your booking. Note: Your wedding date is only secure once the deposit has been paid.

Once the booking has been made, the process follows the timeline below

​

6 months prior to wedding date:

- We will arrange for you to try samples of your choice followed by a consultation

- After the consultation you will be given a sketch of your cake to review and a full quote based on the discussion in the consultation. 

- Any amendments required can be made

​

8 weeks prior to wedding date:

- Any final amendments are made.

- Once everything is finalised a final invoice for the remaining balance shall be sent

​

6 weeks prior to wedding date

- The final balance is due 

​

Samples

​

Approximately 6 months before your wedding date we will reach out to determine which sample flavours you'd like to receive. Your selection of 6 complimentary cake samples with 6 fillings will be posted to you. Any extra samples beyond this will incur an additional charge.

Consultation

​​

Once your deposit has been paid a consultation is included free of any additional charge. However should you require subsequent consultations, these will incur a non-refundable fee of £20

​

Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked via, dm, email or the contact form on the website.

​

During the consultation, we will discuss all of the details of your cake. After the consultation, a detailed sketch of your cake will be sent to you along with an overview of all of the details of your order. You can then advise as to any adjustments required.

​

Payment

​

A deposit of £50 will be required to book a wedding cake with the final balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to the wedding. Larger orders may be split into a more regular payment plan which will be outlined in the contract.  

​

Any bookings made with less than 6 weeks before the wedding will require payment in full. 

​

Unfortunately, we do not offer the option to pay direct-debit or by credit or debit card. All payments are to be made by BACS transfer.

 

If the final payment is not received 28 days before your event, then we have the right to cancel your booking.  The booking fee paid to secure your date is then non-refundable and non-transferable and we may no longer be able to accommodate your booking.

Cancellation Policy

​

Should the client cancel the booking with more than 6 weeks notice of the event date a full refund minus the deposit will be issued. 

​

Should the client cancel the booking within 6 weeks of the event date a 50% deposit will be issued 

​

Should the client cancel the booking within 2 weeks of the event no refund will be issued. (There may be room to manoeuvre in exceptional circumstances but this is at the discretion of Cherry & Black Bakery)

Delivery & Setup

 

We currently charge 75p per mile for a return journey with a minimum spend of £20. Setup costs may vary depending on the complexity of the design.

 

Favours & Small Orders

​

We love to provide for smaller weddings/add-ons for your day, our process for smaller orders differs slightly to the process for a larger cake.

​

Samples

 

For orders less than £250, we'll give you the option to purchase a sample box as an add-on however, it is not automatically built into the price as with larger orders.

Delivery

​

Depending on the location delivery may be available, however, this depends on how far away ​the venue is from our base. We currently charge 75p per mile for a return journey with a minimum spend of £20

All ingredients listed in the above section are correct and up to date with allergens highlighted in bold. Customers are requested to reference this prior to ordering. All cakes contain eggs, milk products and gluten unless otherwise stated. Furthermore, these cakes are made in a kitchen where many allergens are handled and therefore we cannot guarantee that our cakes will not contain traces of these allergens. Allergens handled in the kitchen include but are not limited to; fish, nuts, celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, milk, Eggs, lupin, molluscs, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soy beans, sulphur dioxide & sulphites.

Please note ALL decorated cakes contain food colouring from any of the following brands, JEM, Sugarflair, ColourSplash, Squire’s Kitchen.

Cake Details

Once you've had your consultation, please review all of your order details carefully especially; cake tier sizes, flavour choices, spellings of names, allergen information, collection/delivery time and contact numbers – please advise us of any changes as soon as possible.

​

The cake will be made according to the booking form and therefore it is imperative that all details are checked carefully.  Any errors not picked up on the booking form before the cake is made will not be considered to be our error.

​

All cakes made are fully bespoke and unique to you. Therefore at Cherry & Black we cannot commit to copying exact designs from other cake makers. While we are happy to use photos as a jumping-off point, your wedding cake will be a new creation bespoke for you. 

 

Decorative Items Supplies by 3rd Parties

We cannot be held responsible for delays on items being supplied from other companies e.g., cake toppers, special order cake stands etc.

​

If a bespoke cake topper or stand is required, please give us at least one month’s notice to order it but ideally longer.

​

If you are ordering a topper or cake stand yourself, please carefully check the size with us to make sure it is suitable for your cake and ensure the lead time is in line with your event.  We would always advise ordering as soon as possible.

​

If ordering items yourself, we cannot be held responsible for any errors in size, shape or design as the ordering has not been carried out by ourselves.

​

We reserve the right not to use anything supplied by a third party if we feel it’s unsuitable or unsafe.

​

Flowers supplied by florists

 

When fresh flowers are being added to a cake, we will liaise with your florist about our requirements, but we would always advise you do discuss this with them too.

​

The cost of any fresh flowers will be added to your florist’s bill and we would always advise ordering a few extra flowers so we have a good selection to work with.

​

We can only work with what your florist provides for us on the day.  Please ensure they order flowers specially for the cake so that the cake flowers are of the same high standard as the rest of the florals.  Any unsuitable or toxic flowers supplied will not be used on your cake.

​

 

Amendments

 

We are happy to make alterations to your cake design and order up to 6 weeks prior to your wedding date.  Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate changes to the design, please note that changes within 6 weeks of the event cannot always be guaranteed.

​

Changes to cake designs may be subject to an additional cost.  This will be discussed with you when making the changes. We reserve the right to increase a quoted price in the event you request a variation to the work agreed.

​

Please take the time to check the new copy of the order form with the amendments carefully and let us know by return if any changes are needed

 

Refunds 

 

Your booking fee is non-refundable. It is with the discretion of Cherry & Black to offer any other refunds.
